Who Knows
Who knows what waits in the wings,
or why hearts are fragile things?
Who knows if his words are true,
or if Hope's lying to you?
Who knows why resistance dies,
when he stares into your eyes?
Who knows if he'll cheat again,
or if time will heal your pain?
Who knows how love got its start,
or found its way to your heart?
Who knows if today will bring
more pain, or a wedding ring?
Who knows if love is real;
or how real it can feel?
Who knows what trust's all about;
or why your heart harbors doubt?
Who knows if dreams can come true,
or if he'll ever leave you?
Who knows why love comes and goes:
it is anyone's guess; who knows?
