Who Knew
Who knew our lives had a pause button?
Who knew life would be put on hold?
Who knew that everything that we had planned,
For some months been put out in the cold?
Who knew we’d be kept at home ages?
Who knew even schools would be shut?
Who knew that the latest hiatus would last,
don’t know when all restrictions are cut.
Who knew so much now not permitted?
Who knew that life must take a break?
Who knew although separate breaks are required,
A pause in life we all must take.
We wait while they sort out a vaccine,
We have to stay home longer still,
Can exercise, work, but from home if we can,
And they’re trusting that all of us will.
Who knew that as February comes,
The future still unclear a cause?
For all of us clarity’s absent,
Cos all of our lives are on pause!
