Who Knew
Who knew the light behind the door
Would be this bright, and I could see,
With newfound eyes so blind before,
A sun that only waits for me
Who knew the grass beyond the sand
Would grow so tall or be this green
If I had only stopped to stand
A little farther from the sea
Who knew the wind beside the shore
Would carry love or smell this sweet
If I had walked a mile more
To find a dwelling I could keep.
