Who Is Your Neighbor

Once upon a time in a neighborhood of Orleans
there lived a Jon Terrell among voodoo queens
we neighbors thought him eccentric, sometimes rude
but he turned out a famous, pot smoking dude

When his chance finally came for the talent he had 
He won Mork and Mindy and he wasn't half bad
from there he kept rising with his new name of gold
and Jay Thomas he'll keep through years growing old

but the funniest 'Lone Ranger' made Letterman smile
