Who Is Your Neighbor?

Be nice to your neighbors And do acts of kindness. Be thoughtful and helpful, Polite and not mindless. Do the things for them first You would have them do for you Because the whole law of God And Prophets hang on these two: To love God with all your heart, Mind and soul and health And to love your neighbor The same way you love yourself. You may be making friends Of money before your day of failings, And they would welcome you Into such everlasting dwellings. Thus, he that has true friends Must first show himself a friend By interrupting his own schedule To attend, mend or defend His family, peers and strangers. Acquaint yourself with everyone Who comes across your path From the rising to the setting sun. In your day to day life and travels, In your pass times and labour Let your love for all humanity Show you're a friend and a neighbor.
