Who Are You

Ever think of what your life might mean
If you were anyone other than who you are?
You, who has the ability to dream,
To walk on clouds and swing from a star.

Yet you sit there so quietly
Watching time fly,
Lost in thoughts of what might be
If you couldn't laugh or cry.

A simple existence of solitude,
So much of yourself lost,
Hidden inside, doing your best to elude,
To be alone no matter the cost.

Ever think of what your life might mean
To be who you really are?
Allow yourself to yell and scream;
To be cut by love and wear the scar.
