Who Are You?
Who are you? The Jewish leaders asked,
as the nefarious plot they cast.
If you are the true Messiah
“Tell us”, said the priest Caiaphas.
To seek a charge that death would bring,
Pilate asked if he was a king.
The victim answered yes to both,
So, crucifixion was the vote.
What will you say when you are asked
this question that your truth will unmask?
Peter denied he knew the man.
Will you with others join his clan?
The One who died, your sin debt paid,
and you are in His image made.
Apart from Him, your mind will mar
the hidden truth of who you are.
You are a creature, born in sin
but with God’s image formed within.
The good in you, He longs to take
and of your life, a success make.
So, let Him your Messiah be.
Make Him your king and bow the knee.
Then life’s true meaning you will find
as thoughts of His love fill your mind.
