Does it blow your mind on Poetry Soup
When you regularly converse with a poet
Naturally visualising who they may be ….
Surmising their looks and age
Sometimes gender
Due to no information or history ….

To discover you were completely off mark
Who you thought was a woman is actually a man
Nor the age you expected them to be ….
The photo you just saw
Is not who they are in your mind
It just blows my mind totally ….

Rico Leffanta October 9, 2022 at 11:50 AM I have known Susan Lawrence 30-years! When she came to Fort Apache, Adam Lupe said, "Get your butt down here fast! This girl is special!" I took her to a night event which scares the Hell out of some, with her blonde hair flashing like floodlights in the firelight, and have never seen traditional Apaches more welcoming of an "Anglo". How does that change your understanding of her poems?
