Who are we at our core’ poetry contest
unseeking seeker sponsored
our existence is a mirage of perception,
a play of senses on the centre of neurones,
darkness and morning are concepts of deception,
two simple shades amongst myriads of tones.
our consciousness is self trapped in a body cage,
with name, an identity, ego of its own,
cage of flesh and bones that are slave to time, and age,
ethereal consciousness, its age is unknown.
far beyond reach of human existence and thought,
boundless beyond the farthest points of creation,
is essence of reality sages have sought,
where truth merges to seek one supreme relation!
the supreme is ocean of serene existence,
unbounded by limits of physical being,
that requires no consumption for its subsistence,
when merged with this eternal truth, there’s no dying!
each life that we know has its three journeys of flow,
the physical being that goes from womb to grave,
intellect from ignorance to knowledge aglow,
and journey of the spirit to free us and save!
12 syllables each line
abab rhyme
Line of inquiry:
“we look for that that does not come and go
it cannot be organic form, subject to decay
thoughts and beliefs are fickle, how little we know
yet come what may, our inner child continues to play”
