Who Am I

As I walk along this road called life, As I look back at the sorrow and strife. I take a look inside of this being called me, I take a look to see all I can see. My secrets hidden in the deepest recesses of my mind, My sorrow and shame not far behind. I look around for who holds the key, The key to unlock the secret to me. The disguises gone, the many faces cleared, The one that says "it's me, I'm right here". But no one steps forward, nothing jumps out, Please, can you tell me what this life is all about?!?!

Seems to be the question all poets ask ... smile ... and is a part of the great mystery that binds us all together. Thanks for coming to PoetrySoup, Jeannie and I hope to read a lot more from you!

This is an excellent poem. I like how the title resonates throughout the poem, and how the essence of "Who I Am" comes to the forefront. The rhyming pattern is right on point. Great job and welcome to Poetry Soup! ~Joseph
