Whiteness

I’ve tried to change my process of thought
My preference of love may not easily be bought

Been there for years, hurt badly when I swayed
My brothers of color steered me another way

I choose a person not raised as I was
This has caused oh quite the fuss

Doesn’t matter what they say or feel
It’s my decision to me it’s real

So I live with the hope one day after another
I’ve chosen to love one of another color

love oh how its fickle ways turns our lives into such wonderful disasters as it mocks our expectations
