White Wolf

the moon is full,
the sky, crystal clear.
the stars all aglow,
his howl I do hear.

fresh tracks in the snow,
leave little doubt.
northern lights put on a show,
my white wolf is about.

my heart skips a beat,
when I see his nose raised high.
his howl echoes deep,
in the crisp february sky.

I can hear the how and the rest is a vivid picture of the wilds I wish I was more a part of. A wonderful poem! :)
