White Christmas Maybe

And just beyond the twinkling lights
the snow is falling softly to the ground,
This is one of those Winter nights
that is so rarely ever found.
Winter creeping in with nary a sound.

The cars are covered , the lawn is too,
underneath a blanket of white.
Making everything look brand new
on this silent, Winter night.
Oh ! What a wondrous sight.

Christmas day is approaching fast.
Maybe it'll be a white one this year.
Only a few white Christmases in the past
as it's usually too warm here.
But it's snowing ! ... and Christmas is near.

So with fingers crossed we'll hope it stays,
at least for one week more.
After Christmas it can go away
and no more darken our door
... that's what we're wishing for.
