Ha! Guess you’re thinking about your old toaster, Gershon! My stove is original to my apartment (1951, although I moved in in 1976) and it still works great, although you do need a match to light the oven.

ha, ha, ha. 1951?! Amazing. But America used to believe in something called 'workmanship' or craftmanship, brought over from Europe, esp. Germany.. Now some immigrants believe in 'welfare-ship,' and the rest revel in tortilla stand start-ups. And the 'non-Hispanic' we can't trust past our noses: i.e., the Chinese, the Indians, and the Arabs. So, Goodbye 'workmanship.' I think we've had a fridge and an oven breakdown each of the last three years. C'est la vie..

well said; I agree...all those 'extras' have meant more repairs and more frequently. Give me something simple and inexpensive, please.
