Whispers of the Heart

I wish for love like a bright, shining ray, Not seen as grown-up, but cherished each day. Though I'm mature, I long for care so true, Just like I care for others, through and through. I look for hugs, warm like a friend, Not judged as tomboy, but allowed to blend. I too have feelings, deep inside my core, Wanting to feel what others feel, and more. On birthdays past, no special gift in sight, But deep down, longing for that pure delight. I silently hope for love to come my way, Like others receive, on their special day. I wish for love, the way others receive, Where hearts are filled with joy, and hearts believe. In simple words, I long for love's sweet song, To be loved, just like all girls belong. In this world, may my wish find its start, A whisper of love, deep within my heart.
