Whispers of Light
In Sherwood forest stands a tree
So much different from the rest
It holds a magic meant for me
I believe it is from heaven blessed.
I wandered off from mum and dad
Soon finding myself lost
A six year old Yorkshire lad
Must now pay the cost.
Darkness deepens as does my fear
eerie silence save for rustling leaves
I shout MUM , DAD, but no one hears
Doubt within me horror weaves.
No moon, No stars , Just dark of night
Each falling leaf I suspect
It is then I see two whispers of light
Two of the lords angels a little boy protect.
They guide me to my magical tree
The angels take away my alarm
Soon sleep envelops me
and I wake in my parents arms.
