Whispers

in just whispers
between us two
I just don not know
what we're gonna do

the bills are piling up, you see
how will we ever be free
from all the pain and the strife
we have brought into this life

the more we do the worse it gets
and it's not near over yet
how long does this have to be
is this all there is for you and me

no matter what happens in this life
I am your husband, you are my wife
I wouldn't have it any other way
without the love we have today

so as we try to figure things out
we realize what life is all about
it's not the bills and debts accrued
but about the love between me and you

not to worry, not to fret
we're already richer than most folks get
because of the love that we share
there are no riches that can compare
