Whispering To Myself
Perhaps with stars in your joyful eyes my friend
You will recall the time like rainbow as you would
Hold your baby in your thrilled arms to blend
Your joy with the moon as gloriously it stood
In your mind’s sky close to the trees of sandalwood
As you did your best to shape out a diamond
Moody edges would curve and run and flee
Your flames at times would get dampened
Still you would love on your toes and knee
The child swinging in her rosy growth spree
Unconditional love you tried to provide her
She grew like a lovely bubbling brook
Stormy clouds though made you anxious for answer
You felt depressed as clouds would sit on her gray look
Counted when a breeze would come and the branches shook
The key lies in the heredity and environment
Within your means you do your best to light the lamp
Tempest and quake you had to confront
Sometimes stars and sometimes gloom in your camp
Will she be a scientist or will walk a ramp
On a critical day you find the ship is built
To your wonder and joy the ship has sailed
You don't know if it sails smooth or it will tilt
You now spend your void days mostly veiled
Photos of parenting in what you have inhaled and exhaled
