Whispering Flame

There are times I think of the past
We tried so hard to make us last.
Unspoken words were read
There were tons of tears that were shed.
Life between us created reality road
Things were buried still left untold
Hanging over me is a secret I can no longer hide
Truth needs to be said in you I confide.
No matter how much time goes by 
these feelings I can’t erase deep inside.
Forever we may be apart.
Wanted you to know you are always in my heart.
The way things were, the way they are, and you know the rest.
Thoughts of you from my heart I wish you the best.
Everyday there are thoughts of you wondering
asking could have I done more is something I ponder
Gathered thoughts of what went wrong
Captured feelings are held in my heart keeps me strong.
A wish upon a star
comes from the heart that no harm comes near or far.
Wishful emotions stir as I stare in a candle flame.
Whispering goodnights are never the same.
Silently emotions are expressed for heartfelt words are said
Each and every night before I go to bed.
I just wanted you to know I love you.
You are apart of my soul that my heart will never let go.
