Whisper
If I whisper to the wind will you hear my pain
My love for you my hate and heartache
Or will it fall on deaf ears as many times before
Bottle tilted back harsh words slamming door
And now I know you lie still and all alone
No more drunken fights or crazy rides home
Quiet such a comfort in the darkness here I sit
If only you had changed just a little bit
The grounds so cold no warmth or love to give
It’s just what you deserve and left to those that live
Why I worshipped you and sought to love you more
Cold and distant you were always walking out the door
It’s best that you can sleep under your favorite tree
By the stream in the field was where you liked to be
Someday I hope to visit you and remember your smile
But love it’s going to be a few years you were so vile.
