While You Were Sleeping

I watched you while you were sleeping, Even though I was not there. I watched you while you were sleeping, Just watched you breathe your air. I kissed you while you were sleeping, Even though I was not there. I kissed you while you were sleeping, Then ran my fingers through your hair. I held you while you were sleeping, Even though I was not there. I held you while you were sleeping, You know I took great care. I missed you while you were sleeping, Because I was not there. I missed you while you were sleeping, There’s so much I want to share. So think of me while you’re sleeping, I will be well aware. Think of me while you’re sleeping, And I will be there.

Janis, this reads like a classic from the Romantic Era. Beautiful words, soft flow and much comfort in the last verse. Great work! Love, Carolyn
