While...
May your thoughts float away
As you gaze at passing worlds,
While you embrace the moon bathed earth.
May your heart be blessed
With many years of happiness
While all others must be forsaken.
May your eyes see nothing but joy
And lay witness to many miracles
While all others bear witness to pain.
May your body grow old with grace
And your mind absorb all knowledge
While all others perish and decay
And float away into the wind like dead leaves
Into a world for the less fortunate.
A world where all is forsaken
And nothing thrives but hate and anger.
May the web of lies and deceit
Never stray from your eyes.
May you never have to see
That your moon bathed earth
Is nothing but a barren wasteland,
With war on its doorsteps
And the blood of our children
Spilt into the sea like toxic waste.
While soldiers scream
And watch their friends die.
May you never bear witness
To this unnecessary bloodshed.
May you go in your sleep
Free from pain and anguish
While our children die
In horror and terror.
Buried in the ditches
Only worthy of the corpses of rats.
