Where We Are All Headed

every day we scurry at our hurried pace
simply another runner in the human race

no time to reach out and make any real connection
to show those in our circle meaningful affection

one thing for sure each one of us cannot escape
one day we’ll watch our life on a celestial audiotape

we shouldn’t wait till we’re on a gurney
to think about sum total of our journey

reconsider terrestrial bickering and strife
over points that matter least in afterlife

today is not too late to make amends
to set scores straight and start new trends
