Where Was Her Pirate Crew
I stopped and looked and rubbed my eyes
My own leprechaun-pirate-faerie-queen-girl.
She was prissy, dancing a lively dance, but I recognized her
She was the woman of the woods
The keeper of the gold pots
The locker of the treasure chests
The princess of the high seas
So what was she doing alone on this violet-littered path?
Where was her pirate crew? What was she doing alone?
She screamed when she realized I was a giant.
"Get away!" she said, diving into a chest, pulling out a saber.
It was magnificent, encrusted with rhinestones and fake rubies.
I think they were fake. I am no jeweler.
"Are you alone?" I asked her, frightening her even more.
She ran up and plunged the dagger into my ankle.
OUCH!
So if you are walking in the woods, if you do not want to find
yourself with a sore ankle with six or seven new holes, when
you come upon a leprechaun-pirate-faerie-queen-girl
keep your mouth shut, and slither by, pretending to be a
garter snake.
