Where She Went Wrong

She lays in silence,
away from the world,
unraveling in her mind,
all that she feels.

So much hurt inside,
from time gone by,
just laying there in wonder,
why oh why.

The freedom she sort,
is not the reality,
always a struggle,
no time to breathe.

Caught in a world,
that's just not fair,
losing the will,
to even care.

Within her grasp,
is all she can control,
and it's slowly taking,
a silent toll.

Nearly 18 years beaten,
by the men she loved,
she lays there thinking,
where she went wrong.
