Where Pain Comes From

Does anyone know where pain comes from? It's invisible, but easy to find Is it buried down deep inside the heart? Is it growing inside our mind? Or maybe it has a mind of its own Choosing which victim to touch Never relenting or showing restraint Not knowing the meaning, "Too Much!" And though it comes in many forms It will always feel the same Reasons will come and reasons will go Giving us no one to blame Pain doesn't care if we're young or old It's been known to last for years Our bodies will fight with all of its might Releasing the pain through our tears No one knows where pain comes from We all play the hand that we're dealt It's written in poems and songs alike And something that everyone's felt

I'm with the third one -'has a mind of its own' - how else would you explain its universal 'appeal'? Lovely rhyme Larry!

Great write, I say it has a mind "agenda" of it's own. Thanks for the smiles Larry.
