Where Lies Happiness

it destroys it demantels -
solely
in the species of humankind -
throughout periods of existence
the ecstasy of the mind

beyond doubt cupidity of man
never did never will nor can
obtain the saturation point
in which happiness and contentment are joint

a deceptive slant -
having what you want
portraying the emperor over much
not yet enough
in a reign of unlimited boundaries
grants you the life of happiness

the verity of bliss
a philosophy in disguise
hidden in the illusory slant
fooling both halfwit and wise

his perspective man must turn around
before the source of gladness can be found -
that not in greed for gain or gold
but rather in wanting what you hold
