Where Echoes Live

I've built a land where echoes live
Just remnants of my past
Where future things just fade away
And are destined not to last

Surrounded by my broken things
Things that I destroyed
Pieces that I've thrown away
Things I can't avoid

Miles of mountains built on hope
With slopes too high to climb
A place that's ever standing still
A land with no more time

A place where dreams are out of reach
A mist that's here then gone
A land where loneliness grows out of the ground
And there's no such thing as dawn

I've built a land where echoes live
That's ever changing shape
A land I've built with my own hands
A place I can't escape

Outstanding piece, my friend. Very sad and hopeless situation. Excellent write. Great job. Best to you and yours. Ralph
