Where Does Poetry Hide
This is a student poem- submitted under my name. I take no credit except for pushing the form.

Where does poetry hide?
For, having poetry alone is a privilege upon itself
By what means do we use to draw it out?
Is it under a bookshelf, once extraordinary, now forgotten?
Perhaps under your pillow, like your tooth,
your most treasured possession?
Is it discarded, but only to be recycled into something new?
And why, do we perhaps treasure those that are hiding anywhere?
To bask in its beauty, like the rays of the morning sun?
Or to understand, to ponder,
to answer questions otherwise known to none?
To read for pleasure and fun, to drag through it,
just to say you're done?
Where does poetry hide?
For it could be anywhere,
In a desk, in a book, in a shoe, in a school,
And what will happen when we find it?
Will we treasure it always, never let it go?
Will we read it for the sake of reading,
Will we share it for everyone to know?
Will we show the world God's gift to man,
A hidden treasure, anywhere, for you to find it?
Where does poetry hide, the answer is now evident.
It is anywhere and everywhere, for you to discover,
for poetry is everything.
