Where do teardrops go

Wetfaced, you'd think I'd know
How and why the teardrops go
Ever-present even when not on show
Reason doesn't always affect the flow
Enlighten me, where do teardrops go?

Did I place myself in harm's way
Or did sadness just catch up today

Today they merge with summer rain
Ethereal like this pain
An afterlife that avoids the drain
Reaching flowers they can sustain
Dear Teardrops, I love your refrain
Releasing what we cannot contain
On another day it will be laughter again
Purging hurt in ways I can't explain
Such is life that it goes on in vain

Good God I fear I've lost the fight
Oh please stay by my side tonight

Beautifully written. I love how you turned tears into something that gives life instead of only representing pain. The connection between sadness, healing, and hope comes through strongly. Thank you for sharing such an honest piece.

How youv made this acrostic rhyme and how youv come up with such soft and soulful metaphors in such a creative manner truly left me speechless ~ feeling inferior, like what?!! I especially love "Today they merge with summer rain Ethereal like this pain An afterlife that avoids the drain " summer rain and ethereal pain really is so unique! And the ending feels so tender so genuine! This is beyond beautiful and heart touching and poignant! Im convinced tears ~ return as summer rain now! Fav!

I’m not sure where teardrops actually go, but I do know sad tears and happy tears are made up of distinctly different chemicals, the latter contain caffeine, so perhaps ok to swallow those ones :) delightful acrostic, with deep sentiment throughout, and that little prayer at the end is so poignant, cheers David

Aww thank you David - it's funny to reflect back (mere milliseconds) on being sad when events since blow my brain up enough for no emotion to even thrive long enough to be registered. Nice to see you, as always
