Where Did She Go

Where did she go after I said goodbye
I broke my own heart and I don't know why

Lookin' for something I already had
Words to my own song are drivin' me mad

Would she lie upon my pillow
As if it were the same
Would she whisper like she used to
Before I went insane

Went to the river but she was not there
Asked all her friends - they said,"Why do you care?"

But care I did as I searched far and wide
With only one thought of her by my side

Would she lie upon my pillow
As if it were the same
Would she whisper like she used to
Before I went insane

As years passed by her image has faded
There's wine in my veins, my eyes are shaded

I lie in an alley that's warm and dry
Where did she go after I said goodbye

Would she lie upon my pillow
As if it were the same
Would she whisper like she used to
Before I went insane
