When you leave me
When you leave me, my heart will turn cold.
The scraps that I pieced together and offered to you will be on the floor.
You were my last hope, my saving grace.
Now it’s all been thrown away.
My sensitive mind won’t care anymore.
I won’t try to even the score.
Now that i’ve learned my lesson, once and for all
Nobody will break through these walls.
I’ll hide in my home and bury myself in books
Or bask in sorrowful silence next to a brook
I’ll sit there and long for our good times before
And what could’ve been if you had loved me just a bit more.
If i could’ve been enough to make you stay
To chose me over the life that was pulling you away
A part of you still holds a piece of me
Yet now, without it, i’m finally free.
