When Tragedy Strikes
When Tragedy Strikes
Tragedy's dark shadow fell one day,
Without even a warning, it swept away
All joy, all laughter and all delight,
Leaving behind sorrow, pain and an endless night.
It struck without mercy, favour and without shame,
A blow so fierce, it left only a lingering pain.
A wound so deep that seemed to never fade,
A scar so big that would forever be displayed.
In that instant, our lives were changed forever,
Hopes and dreams were lost like autumn leaves that sever.
The future that was once so bright, now dim and gray,
As tragedy's dark, menacing shadow came to stay.
But even in the darkness, there's a light that we hope will gleam,
A chance for healing and a chance to redeem.
For in the face of tragedy, something good we must find,
A strength we never knew or even hope to ease our mind.
So let us rise, carry on and face the pain,
Let us find a way to love again, so death was not in vain.
For tragedy may strike at any time, but it will not define,
Our resilience to carry on, neither the will to shine.
