When They Were Very Young

A fellow in a foreign land, seeking shelter from a storm Met a young, lovely girl who protected him from harm. She took him in and gave him food and also kept him dry. He realized then of her true thoughts when he looked into her eyes.   Though language, verbal, was not exchanged, nor even understood, Together, they communicated, just the best they could. With gestures here and a few nods there, their story had begun Of the love they shared when they first met, when they were very young. That cold, wet night, so many years ago, was when they met their fates. The two of them, unknowing then, were predestined to be mates. More than that, their kindred souls, their young hearts and minds Had found each other on that night, with love not far behind. From that day on, into the future, together they would always be. For if you look for love in others, it is them that you shall see. Together they created their future, though speaking different tongues, Because, they pushed on past the obstacles, when they were very young.
