When the Stories Over
the the story was finished
I thought you'd leave me alone
all that rejection
all the butterflies were gone
got scared to call you on the telephone
that's how bad it bothered me
today is the sound of what's popular
he'll do anything to be with her
last night it was crumpets and coffee
aint no arguing about it
it's sweet and cute
but some might doubt it
it's just the way
she see's things
the song stopped
and they stood there
refusing to stop the dance
it was bordering sexy with alot of romance
maybe that's the way it's gotta be
the next song came
when they caught the groove
a smile across her face
and they started to move
what I would give to hear what they said
ooh I looked around and others were
into this
when he dipped her
and gave her a kiss
I said the story's over
let's applaud
A standing ovation
and flowers came from everywhere
they smerked real coy
as people started to stare
bowed and they left the floor
where talking marriage
rings cakes and all
late summer or early fall
the bride to be
she'll stand real tall next to me
I'll introduce them to the room
a beautiful Bride
and a Very Handsome groom
when the stories over this what
people will say
