When the Roses Fell

I remember the day, when the poor roses fell
A day, like no other I've found
You came from the garden, with flowers to sell
With roses, all over the ground

Caught in the middle, was a flower of gold
None, like I've ever seen
For the roses it seemed, didn't want to be sold
As they lay there, guarding their queen

There was so much beauty, in one single place
That the people couldn't help but stare
In spite of the roses, they looked on your face
The most beautiful flower there

As I looked at this flower that lay among thorns
A smile in my heart starts to grow
For the petals of gold, that your flower adorns
Had such a beautiful glow

I will never forget when the poor roses fell
For I chose the flower within
From the moment I saw you, I could already tell
I couldn't wait for our life to begin
