When the Lights Go Out
When the lights go out
And the house grows dark
The black expands
To every part
The house soon becomes
Just like the night
As the darkness now fills
In every sight
The goings on cease
And life soon stills
As the mission becomes
To find what will
Will dispel the dark
And bring in some sight
To house that's been
Devoid of light
A candle is found
And soon it is lit
It dispels the dark
Though barely a bit
More are found
They're lit and they start
To chase the blackness
From different parts
A brilliant treasure
Later is found
A flashlight now on
With light that abounds
The search continues
And unearthed a gas lamp
Used when on hikes
At night to camp
Once turned on
It's as bright as day
And completely chases
The darkness away
But too little too late
The powers comes back
No more need to worry
About the black
