When the Fire Meets the Rain
I remember as I stared
Out the window Pane
I thought for sure
That I was losing my brain
There is no way to explain
Other then the mountain has begun
To come undone
When the lava creeps
Mother nature no longer sleeps
Once in a while the volcano
Will weep fire as it rains
Damdest thing
I have ever seen
Oh what does it all mean
Is mother nature going to surprise me
Is all this lava going to fall into the sea
What really catches my eye
Is the way the rain bounces off
The Window Pane
When the fire meets the rain
It's just insane
Nobody can really explain
How this mountain has maintained
As the lava regains momentum
Without flames
Midnight glow lights up the night
Oh what a beautiful sight
That we are seeing tonight
Watching the island grow
With each amazing flow
So grand from where we stand
The fire and rain
As it lights up the window pane
Before it drains
Into many lava veins
This is how the island came to be
When mother nature makes
Her furry known for all to see
The mountain gowns
The lava melts the stones
She sculpts and expands her horizons
Year after year
The island rises out of the sea
Making the island a sight
For all to see just how amazing
Mother nature can be
When the fire meets the rain
No one can tame
Or reframe from the beauty
That she maintains in her wake
.
