When the Darkness Shines

"Your light burns brighter than a dying star"
Barked the Aardvark to the lightning bug
Suffocating in the mason jar

"Was it not I" replied the fly encased in glass
"Who gave Edison the idea of the bulb
By the seat of my enlightened ass"

"I thought i was special i must admit
And when my light dies out
I hope you step in ****"

Slipping in **** the Aardvark died on the floor
Because the little light burnt out
And darkness shined forevermore
