When the Angels Call

I release my soul upon this hallowed ground
I find my mind racing to the memory I have found
I see mama as she waves to me from afar
I wave an unsteady hand at a distant star

Love surrounds me as I travel from dream to dream
I shed no more tears as I wander, or so it would seem
Youth far away and gone I now see my grandpas face
A dream with a smile cast upon my soul, a mere trace

Try as I might I cannot explain the warm tears
There is truth in my eyes chasing away my fears
How sweet and happy those things of which I dream
My mamas sweet hugs cover my heart like strawberry cream

I find my shadow has long since departed my soul
Mama whispers angel songs before I once more go
Wandering back to earth I find a locket of gold,I arise again
Wanting to get to heaven, now my only worldly sin
