When Something Is Amiss Be On Your Way

The mystery man in the orange feathered hat,
Invited Miss Scarlett to a Tit-and-A-Tat.
She had no idea what it was but she went anyway.
She wasted her precious time, and a lot of her wonderful day.

Abject annoying politeness kept her in her seat,
Trying to pretend he was exotic and fun.
When she should have been swiftly on the road,
Much more quickly and wisely on the run.

The mystery man in the orange feathered hat,
Revealed nothing about himself and was weirdly insane.
Miss Scarlett stayed in place like a solid place mat.
Until she could run away, out in the rain.

Moral of the story, in case you did not see.
Is to honor yourself, to your heart feel, be.
When something is amiss, be on your way.
When something is wrong, do not let it take most of your day.

I know several, and I cannot believe how determined they are to hang in, waiting for a complete change to come, when they are willing to do nothing differently. Amazing really.

I love the hat, such wonderful imagery! You do well keeping the same tone throughout your poems. I enjoyed reading it.
