WHEN SANTA CAME TO BENARTY
WHEN SANTA CAME TO BENARTY
Santa came to Benarty
One cold and stormy night
The snow and clouds that gathered
Made Santa ground his flight.
He landed behind the graveyard
In Dallas Doyle Park,
He came down with such a loud crash
He made a few dogs bark.
The snow was really heavy
As he grabbed his sack of toys,
I`ll have to deliver on foot tonight
For all the girls and boys.
I`ll make my way round Kirktoun Park
Then through ST,Kenneths school,
Drop presents of at Stevensons farm
And avoid the farmers bull.
A quick trip down to Dunmore Place
And the tap end round by Moe`s,
From Martin Crescent to Kildownie
He can hardly feel his toes.
Then down the lane to Westwood Crescent
And along Ballingry Road,
Then through all the kirklands to the community shop
To lighten up his load.
Now Kirktoun Street and Malcolm Street
And up to Cleikimin,
Seamark Place and Elders Knowe
All welcome Santa in.
The stars were shining through the clouds
As the storm began to clear,
And the sight of Rudolph over Craigy Street
Brought Santa Christmas cheer.
He climbed back on his sleigh
And refilled up his sack,
Then flew around the Meedies
And into Garry Park.
A left turn after Manse Road
Then over Sweeney Heights,
Then Castle Avenue and Inchgall
To drop a pair of bikes.
A quick stop over Kutz
Where Santa gets his trim,
They clip his moustache and his beard
And keep his eyebrows trim.
A loop the loop around Park Street
To drop of G.I. Joe`s,
Then down the chimney at Bootique Dogs
Where the Reindeer clip their toes.
Then Denholm Way and MuckleStane Court
Then of up to Lochore,
And swing left at the Institute
With plenty presents more.
From Abbotsford Road to Oliver Street
He`s got every pit house done,
Durward Mannering and Ivanhoe
He never missed no one.
Then once around Montrose Crescent
And Melrose Gardens to,
Then a visit to the Riding Stables
As Comets lost a shoe.
Then back up Crosshill Main Street
And then Lochleven road,
Scott Place Marmion and Loanhead
Then stop to check his load.
They land behind Baynes the Bakers
Beneath clear Benarty skies,
The reindeer snack on Carrots
And Santa has mince pies.
Then to Budgies disco in the Red Goth
Where the party`s still alive,
Then gets hit by a dozen snowballs
As he flies round Rosewell Drive.
Then up and around Balbedie
And into Ballingry Crescent,
Then back to Ore bank Cafe
To leave the girls a present.
Drop into Bonnars garage
Then Flockhouse old and new,
Leave toys and dolls and balls of slime
And icky sticky goo.
From Marshall Place to Woodstock Place
To Craigy Malcolm Path,
To drop a dolly house hold set
With a hot tub and a bath.
Loch Leven Terrace Gardens and Place
They are in bed for half past ten,
If Santa has extra presents
He`ll fly back down again.
Every private house and bungalow
The presents are a plenty,
Then he rubs his back and tips his hat
To Angelo Valente.
Marshal Place and Capledrae
And Southfield Avenue,
Then Benarty School to Ben ore
To get the old folks to.
Then last but not least the Hill Road
And into Navitie Park,
With scooters and skateboards all around
To play on at the park.
Now he`s back to where he landed
But he has to double back,
With a nice retirement present
For our own Willie Clarke.
He gets his list and checks it twice
As there’s still presents in his sack,
Mcginlay Clune and Cathrine Terrace
So he`ll have to double back.
But before he gets to Glencraig
He knows just what to do,
Go down the chimneys at ST Ronans cresent
And Benarty Avenue.
With Benarty done and dusted now
But on his back seat sits a telly,
It must be for his next stop
As he heads towards Lochgelly.
Merry Christmas Benarty
Santa shouts out from his sleigh,
Peace and goodwill to everyone
On this Christmas day.
THE END.
