When my Soul's no Longer 'round
One day a visit to a lawyer
to deal with a simple matter
So after receiving her advice
there was some extended chatter
What is your preference she asked
when your soul is not around
Well I'm not enamoured with either
cremation or being six foot underground
Now to lay some foundation
for our different points of view
There is much divergence in appearance
she is in stilettos and the gear, nicely groomed
Me unruly, long white hair and beard just a pair of shorts and singlet
neither foot adorned with a shiny shoe
So I express my preference and this is what I said.
I'd like to know that when my time is getting close
I'd find a hidden valley to lay and decompose when I'm finally dead
No headstones no reminders
that I've lived upon this earth
Donate my body back to nature
it's now my soul that's full of worth
Well of course this young solicitor
she's now extremely shocked
All her legal foundations
have suddenly been rocked
You cant do that,!!! raises both her hands
in horror she exclaims
It's not included
in any legal frames
I only need a cardboard box
I guess I must be burnt
I give gratitude for my time on planet earth
and the lessons my soul has progressively learnt
