When Mourning Dies
I shall only be glad when mourning dies
When pain and suffering close her eyes.
I shall only know peace when loss is lost
And vanquished the burdens of our crosses.
I shall only rejoice when tears are forgotten
When disease is no more and perfection begotten.
I shall only dance when gravity yields
And with angels soar through pastoral fields.
I shall only sing when I enter His gate
And appear where family earnestly wait.
I shall only be found when with you I shall be
Lost in Christ's love for eternity.
