When Life Is Lived

When life is lived
Through an hourglass of time
When life is bounded
By the watchless eyes of mine
When life is grounded
On a whim that nobody saw
You can tell it was there
All along
I’d give it all
Just to be there one more time
But like this life
You can never press rewind
And oh, it flees
And I watch it slip out of my hands
I never saw it
I never was even there
