When Life Has Run Amok

if you write life without a plot
what you have is a vacant lot
it’s time to pause and examine the story
consider introspection and an inventory

there are days of purple haze
life is a maze of many ways
in disrepair, life’s not fair
I declare what can I bare

I’ll ask the Lord to bless me
as I prayed again tonight
to guide me and protect me
as He champions my fight

His love is always with me
His promises are true
when I give Him all my cares
I know He’ll lead me through

when the task that burdens
seems too difficult a test
I pray upon a bended knee
knowing He will do the rest
