When It Matters No More

When it matters no more
That you bear the day,
Just look me in the eyes
With your beautiful smiles;
Look and smile, O melante,
And I'll try to understand.

When it matters no more
That you speak a word,
Write me a thousand notes
In your golden heart;
Write your heart, O Melante,
And I'll try to be a man.

When it matters no more
That you take a breath,
Close slowly your blue eyes
While I wipe my tears;
Close those eyes, O Melante,
And I'll try never to part.
