When Inspiration Doesn'T Come
When inspiration doesn't come
And the Muse seems sure to resist
I always start with the same six words
"Her love was but a pharmacist"
Ah, my friend , my brain comes awake
"He will soon make fools of us all!"
The Muse begins to stir and moan
Seeing that his esteem might fall
Soon the first line quickly changes
Then the brain picks a clever form
Rhyming schemes start to come forward
And the Muse returns to the norm
So my head is filled with action
And the brain has engaged its list
Shortly a poem is done without
"Her love was but a pharmacist"
