When I Saw Gods: a Led Zeppelin Tribute
Light fell upon a wall
And I began to run:
Someone sang about Kashmir,
Of Valley, stars and Sun...
The sound came from a certain
Quarter
But I wasn't so sure;
As I battled down the Stairway,
A voice echoed, "...Evermore"...
And soon enough, I heard one sing
In a fine, familiar tone:
Friends, my eyes cherished this
scene,
Which was a Wonderful One...
Imagine the ecstasy I felt,
When I saw what I saw:
Plant sang some unknown ballad--
I stood gaping in awe...
Yes, he stood squirming and writhing
In total melody;
John and Jones hard at it,
Increased further my ecstasy...
I looked harder to spot out Page,
The Devil, did he look grand
With all his good ol'strings in place
Bless this Rock 'n' Roll band...
With every note they conjured,
A raw pleasure was felt;
I recall how passion surged through
air,
Through blood, and saw me melt...
Melt I did, but before that,
The earth began to shake;
The Dancing Days were over I guess
For I felt a Heartbreak...
Dazed and Confused and dripping
now,
From an Ocean of pain;
All just vanished in nothingness..
....I tried to dream again..
All now was left was a memory that
shone
Of one Celebration Day,
When I saw Gods live on stage,
And common people pray....
