When I Rethink Glory Days of My Youth

When I Rethink Glory Days Of My Youth When I rethink glory days of my youth I always find some sad and bitter truths First is, world and reality always bites And to rise above, one must always fight Be it dawn's sweet rise and/or dark of night! In recalling, saw my deeds, my failings All my past, all my current new wailings Bitter the wind that bears that sadden news With it comes another round of the blues And thus, I vow in life to better choose! In that lonesome state of deep pondering Mind continues its inner wanderings Recreating fantasies to relieve This heart and soul from dark that deceives Walk again the path that blessings receives! When I rethink glory days of my youth I always find some sad and bitter truths First is, world and reality always bites And to rise above, one must always fight Be it dawn's sweet rise and/or dark of night! Indeed! But I would welcome them back in an instant, despite the pains of growth ... never was I more alive or vital, and those visceral emotions I've lost to time, reality and disappointment. Oh, to be a tenth of the foolish young man I was! Superb write, my friend! Fave-ing!

Thank you my friend. I so agree- I would go back and endure the pain yet again- If I could also experience again the wonderful and blessed moments of life, love, discovery and the massive energy that once a part of my being. To face again those mysteries of life and even discover what were once mistakes -were the much needed lessons that served me well in the future. Thanks for the fave my friend. As poets-yes we are to dream!!!

Thank you my dear friend. Oft the suffering one thought to be so bad, we find later in life was well worth it for the very important and much needed lesson learned! At least for me tho' so very deeply grievous in the past, those sad, tragic experiences toughened me up for what life was yet to bring. Truth in the old saying, "what don't kill you, makes you stronger".... God bless...

Thank you my friend. That first paragraph set the stage for what most of my life was the first 45/50 years of it. Now I am attempting to do my fighting in -INK. As that seems to be a far less violent and costly way to continue onward in life. Even if it is truly time consuming.. God bless..
